SULFUR SOAP

The Sulfur Soap Bars are almost ready and will be available to purchase November 14th!
For those who don't know the benefits of using sulfur soap let me tell you a little something about this natural mineral. If you or your teens have severe acne, big cystic bumps and/or very oily skin, you can spend hundreds on acne products but not get the results you paid for. Sulfur is a naturally occurring non-metal mineral that is found mostly near hot springs and volcanic craters. It is especially effective at drying up excess oil and exfoliating dead surface skin cells, plus it has antibacterial properties that help kill topical bacteria and prevent it from spreading, helping to clear up acne.
Sulfur is a one-stop shop for complexion perfection.

Note: Hormonal imbalance and poor diet also contributes to acne skin conditions.

If you miss out on this batch of Sulfur Soap, the next batch will be ready December 5th.

A new line of soaps coming to Nile Naturals

I have been asked by my customers to create soaps that help with various skin conditions such as Eczema, Excessive oily skin, teenage out of control acne, uneven skin tone due to acne scaring, and mature aging skin issues. This new line of soaps will attempt to address the problems that are important to you.

In November 2015 I will add the following new soaps:

Turmeric & Honey Soap

What it do:

Turmeric is effective in the treatment of acne due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties that fight pimples and breakouts to provide a youthful glow to your skin. It is beneficial for oily skin as it regulates the production of sebum, an oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands. Turmeric can help lighten stretch marks, and can be used in the treatment of various scalp conditions such as dermatitis and eczema and inflammation.

We added Honey to our Turmeric soap.
Acne: Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it's great for acne treatment and prevention.
Pores: Honey is clarifying because it opens up pores making them easy to unclog.

Sulfur Soap

What it do:

What is Sulfur? Sulfur is a natural mineral crucial to the overall health of connective tissues, skin, bones, teeth, hair, and muscles. Known as an age-old remedy used since ancient times to cure skin conditions and various health issues, Sulfur now plays a pivotal role in skincare treatments for Acne, Eczema, and Psoriasis.

Sulfur is gentle but effective. Unlike more drying agents like Benzoyl Peroxide, Sulfur acne spot treatments will not dehydrate skin and leave it further irritated. Instead, it works to remove excess shine, and over time, help heal existing breakouts for a brighter, clearer, and noticeably smoother complexion.

Moringa Soap

What it do:

Moringa has skin purifying properties and therapeutic skincare benefits. As such, it is used in the cosmetic industry. Impurities in the skin are filtered out, and your skin is rejuvenated and detoxified. The natural skin tone and color are balanced to make your skin fairer. Moringa soap can be used as a face mask treatment by making a paste with water.
The antioxidants in moringa make your skin revitalized by controlling free radicals. Free radicals cause your skin to age. The cleansing ability of moringa makes your skin youthful and radiant.
Around 30 antioxidants are contained in moringa which is delivered to the skin, being highly absorbable and makes your skin healthy.

Shea Butter , Cocoa Butter & Mango Butter Soap

What it do:

Shea Butter
Because Shea Butter has such a large healing fraction, in addition to moisturizing fraction, regular use of this natural cream can treat many skin problems, including blemishes, wrinkles, itching, sunburns, small skin wounds, eczema, skin allergies, insect bites, frost bite, and other skin conditions.

Shea butter has the ability to soothe, hydrate and balance your skin. It is used as a moisturizer for dry skin and eczema, as a dry scalp treatment, for chapped lips and to help soften cracked dry skin on heels, elbows and knees. It is important, according to the American Shea Butter Institute, to make sure unrefined shea butter is used. Raw shea butter maintains its therapeutic qualities and will keep your skin moist and supple, whereas refined, processed shea butter loses almost all of its healing properties.
Dr. Robyn Tisdale Scott, a clinical pharmacist, concurs with the American Shea Butter Institute, supporting the claim that unrefined shea butter reverses dry skin in about three days.

Cocoa Butter
Because of Cocoa Butter's natural make-up and its nutrient and fatty acid content, cocoa butter is amazing for dry skin and can actually penetrate further than the top layer of the skin, meaning it moisturises deep-down and really nourishes the skin.
Cocoa butter contains a number of different antioxidants which can kill-off a wide range of different free-radicals. In fact, cocoa butter contains a much higher antioxidant concentration then even blueberries and other superfoods.

We use cocoa butter in a wide variety of products to ensure our customers can get the impressive effects of this fantastic ingredient in a number of ways, and for a number of skincare needs.

Mango Butter
Mango butter is obtained from the kernels of the mango tree. It has a high content of stearic acid, which makes it similar to cocoa butter. Mango butter has good emollient properties and lends protection against the sun. It is said to prevent drying of the skin and formation of wrinkles. Mango butter also reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores elasticity.
The butter is very versatile with range of wonderful qualities – ability to hydrate skin for long period of times, lightening of age and sun damage spots, tightening skin and healing eczema, rashes, irritations and generally, brining back a healthy tone to skin.

So combining the best butters in the world makes a very moisturing luxury bar.

The Benefits of

Organic Soap

The Benefits of Using Organic Soap Products

Organic soaps are generally not tested on animals. The all-natural organic substances in soap are easy on sensitive skin, and can soothe the reactions.
Natural and organic soaps don't cause the dry feeling that you can experience with commercial, non-organic soaps.
Organic soap products are made with natural, organic substances that don't support chemical companies or GMO farmers. An investment in organic soap products is an investment in avoiding toxins harmful to your skin & to the environment.
Organic soap products will leave your skin feeling clean & moisturized, and give you the peace of mind to know that you're doing a good thing for yourself & your family.
Reducing toxins in one area helps your overall living environment.
Use Organic Soap for Bathing & Hand Washing It should come as no surprise that the majority of soaps that are sold in stores contain a large amount of chemicals that most of us have never even heard of. If you are concerned about the toxins that your family uses in your home, then you might want to consider switching to organic soap as a healthier alternative.

By using organic soap, you can potentially avoid, or at least reduce, many common skin problems. Organic soap contains ingredients that have been produced without using herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or pesticides.  Commercial soaps are hard on regular skin, and worse if you have sensitive skin. The chemicals used to make and enhance their product and dry and damage skin. Regular soaps will remove naturally present glycerin and instead include harsh substances like dyes, synthetic fragrances and preservatives. Is it any wonder that some people are medically required to switch to natural soaps? Some of the possible skin conditions that may cause you to switch to natural soaps include, chronically dry skin, allergic reactions after a bath or an itch that scratching doesn't seem to relieve.

Start with one product at a time. Give natural products a try.

Global Mamas – A Fair Trade Organization

“Fair trade” means that an equitable partnership exists between producers of goods in developing countries and retailers in developed countries.

The fair trade approach supports a variety of social business practices that advocate for higher standards in regards to producers’ pay, work atmosphere and environmental protection, among others. Fair trade partnerships work to provide otherwise marginalized artisans and farmers with a living wage.

The Global Mamas network of producers has grown from six founding members in 2003 to nearly 600 producers living in nine communities.

Prosperity is Financial Security

The steady work that the women in the Global Mamas community receive ensures that they are earning a living wage for their community and are fully employed. This stability gives the Mamas the confidence to know that they can cover their basic living expenses, invest in their children's education and even contribute to savings accounts to put toward future dreams.

At Nile Naturals we believe in Fair Trade and purchase our ingredients from Ghana Africa and support the women in Africa who work at the coops as they build financial independence.

When you're accustomed to doing things the way you always have, you may not see why you would want to switch up your routine. But once you compare the benefits of natural health and beauty products to the way things used to be done, however, you'll see why you would want to adopt a new, natural lifestyle with health and beauty products that can help you look and feel great.

Why Use Natural Beauty Products:

  1. -Earth-friendly: Products made from conventionally produced ingredients can have a negative environmental impact. The manufacturing of chemical-heavy health and beauty products puts those chemicals, and many more, into the air and water, and even more go down your drain in your own home. When ingredients for natural health and beauty products are farmed and manufactured organically, fewer chemicals are put into the air and water.
  2. -Avoid irritation: Chemicals, artificial colors, and fillers in skin care products and makeup can cause redness, irritation, and breakouts. Many people are even allergic to chemicals commonly found in conventionally produced products. Natural makeup, skin care products, and body products work with your skin instead of against it.
  3. -Save your nose: Artificial fragrances are designed to cover up the smell of other chemicals used in traditional health and beauty products. The effect is that you have a chemical to cover up another chemical, and all those chemical smells can cause headaches in many people. Natural health and beauty products smell like their natural ingredients, not a cocktail of chemicals. Natural health and beauty products scented with natural essential oils can even provide aromatherapy.
  4. -No strange side effects: Parabens are used in conventionally produced health and beauty products as a preservative to extend the shelf life of products. Parabens, however, are synthetic and mimic your body's natural hormones. Many people worry that this can alter the functions of your body's endocrine system. Artificial ingredients like parabens may help a product do one thing well, but there could be possible side effects that are still being uncovered. Natural health and beauty products use natural preservatives, such as grapefruit seed extract, that won't affect your body. And while some people have allergies to a few natural ingredients (lanolin, which comes from wool, is an allergen for some) the effects are much more understood than the ones from synthetic ingredients.
  5. -Gentler over time: Many natural products work better than their conventional counterparts because they don't contain unnecessary fillers or irritants. And while some unnatural products may seem to work better with the first try, over the long-term, the harmful chemicals that made your skin feel cleaner or your hair feel smoother may actually cause damage.

HISTORY OF SOAP

An excavation of ancient Babylon revealed evidence that Babylonians were making soap around 2800 B.C. Babylonians were the first one to master the art of soap making.
They made soap from fats boiled with ashes. Soap was used in cleaning wool and cotton used in textile manufacture and was used medicinally for at least 5000 years.

The Ebers papyrus (Egypt, 1550 BC) reveals that the ancient Egyptians mixed animal and vegetable oils with alkaline salts to produce a soap-like substance.

Throughout history people were known to have taken bath in herb waters and other additions to the bathing medium thought to be beneficial. Cleopatra of Egypt for example used mare’s milk, honey and essential oils in her bathing rites.

From the long history of ancient civilizations until today, the basics of soap making has not fundamentally changed, meaning that the basic process has not changed. Hence, blending the old tradition with modern day knowledge of surface active agents, accuracy, combination of good and carefully selected ingredients using Earth's extraordinary botanicals, indeed, creates extraordinary soaps!
